Home Saving Safe Accounts (H.S.S)

Purpose

Offers you to deposit your Small Savings etc , and utilize the same for your day to day requirements.

Eligibility 

  • A person in his individual
  • More than one person in their joint names
  • A minor jointly with a major
  • A minor over the age of 12 years who can read and write and operate the account personally
  • Charitable and educational institutions (if they do not conduct business of commercial nature)
  • HUF
  • Blind Persons
  • Illiterate persons
  • Organizations / agencies / bodies that are specifically permitted to open saving account

Documents required for opening of HSS Accounts :
(a) For identifications Proof (any one of the following)

  1. Passport
  2. UID ( Adhar Card )
  3. Driving Licence
  4. Voter ID Card
  5. Pan Card
  6. Govt. / Defense ID card
  7. ID Card issued by Reputed employer

(b) For address Proofs (any one of the following)

  1. Electricity Bill
  2. Telephone Bill
  3. UID ( Adhar Card )
  4. Salary Slip
  5. Bank account statement
  6. Letter from a reputed employer
  7. Letter from any recognized public authority /local body
  8. Income tax / wealth tax Assessment order

(c) Proof of Date of Birth ( Applicable for Senior Citizens & Minor only )

  1. For Senior Citizens( any one of the following )
    • Passport
    • Voter Id Card
    • Driving License
    • Pan Card
    • Service Discharge Certificate
    • PPO in case of Pensioner
  2. For Minors :
    • Birth Certificate issued by Gram Panchayat / NAC (Notified Area Committee) / Municipal Corporation

SAVINGS BANK DEPOSIT SCHEME

  • Who can open Savings Account ?

Following are eligible for opening of savings accounts.

  • A person in his individual capacity/name
  • More than  one person in their joint names
  • A minor jointly with a major
  •  Minor over the age of 10 years, who can read and write and operate the account singly.
  • Charitable and educational institutions (if they do not conduct business of commercial nature)
  • Hindu Undivided Family ( HUF )
  • Blind Persons
  • Illiterate persons
  • Organizations / agencies / bodies that are specifically permitted to open savings accounts.

  • What are the documents required to open Savings Account?
  • Proof of identity and Address
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • PAN or Form 60/61

  • Which documents are required for Identity Proof ?

Customers shall provide one of the following as proof of identity.

  • Passport,
  • Driving license,
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card,
  • Voter's Identity Card issued by the Election Commission of India,
  • Job card issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the State Government,
  • Letter issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India containing details of name, address and Aadhaar number.

  • Which documents are required for Address Proof ?

If the address provided by the customer is the same as mentioned in ID proof, no other document is to be provided as proof of address.
It is required to produce only one document showing permanent address.  Current address can be self-certified by the account owner.

  • What is the minimum amount required to open savings account?

For Metro /Urban Branches   - Rs.1000/-
For Semi Urban Branches     - Rs.  500/-
For Rural Branches              - Rs. 250/-
 
Charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance:
For Metro /Urban Branches   - Rs.75/- per quarter
For Semi Urban Branches     - Rs. 60/- per quarter    
For Rural Branches              - Rs. 30/- per quarter.

(Subject to change from time to time)

(Pensioners, Senior Citizens above 60 years of age, students are exempted from minimum balance requirement).

  • What are the charges for cheque book?

20 leaves per Half Year are free.  For more than 20 cheque leaves per half year Rs.3.00 per leaf will be charged (subject to change from time to time).

  • What is the rate of interest I will get in Savings Account?

4% per annum on quarterly basis.

  • Is Nomination facility available?

Yes. You can make your nomination in savings account.

  • Can I open Online Savings Account?

Yes. Online Opening of Savings account is available for individuals having PAN Card.
